LBTS
Halloween Fright Night
Commissioner Silverstone and his pack of ghouls will provide a haunting
experience for the little
kiddies and
adults this Hallow's Eve.
The Citizens Initiative Committee
... is Lauderderdale-by-the-Sea's largest grass roots civic organization and made up of
citizens who really care about the
past, present, and future of our Town.
The purpose of the CIC is to encourage
actions and policies of Town
Government which protect and enhance the quality of life for Town residents and to monitor the
performance of Town Officials in that
regard. Please click on CIC History to view our past successes as well as the Issues page for updates on current local
topics of interest.

It is my honor to serve as the CIC Chair for the next year!
This is not an unfamiliar positon for me, as in the mid-
nineties,
I was founder of the Citizens Action Committee
(CAC) which was the predecessor of the CIC. I am very
proud that our little group
of 8 "quality of life" activists has
grown into an organization with family memberships now counting over 200 and earned a place of
great respect
within our community!
It has been a very long journey but we now have a healthy majority of sitting Town
Commissioners on the dais who won the
endorsement of the CIC because of their
campaign pledges to keep Lauderdale-by-the-Sea the charming seaside com-
unity we
all came here to enjoy! Of course, the CIC will always keep watch to
ensure that promises made will be promises
kept and that our exceptional small-town
values and long-standing traditions will be preserved for the future. But
the CIC is
not all work and no play! Our meetings are informative and entertaining, we have
loads of CIC
parties, and our members have a great time working with each other
and the new Commission planning fantastic community
events such as Easter-by-
the-Sea, the July 4th Beach Blast Celebration, the upcoming Halloween Fright
Night and
the elegant Fireman's Ball. We would love to have you join in the fun!
